The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) Odisha was formed by Orissa Act 9 of 2009 by converting University College of Engineering (UCE), Burla to a non-affiliating Unitary University and came into force by issue of notification by the industries Department, Government of Odisha from 1st day of July 2009.

The VSSUT, Burla 2010 has been approved by the Odhisha Government vide Industry Department notification, this state government university is also recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. The University has been declared eligible to receive central assistance under section 12B of the UGC Act.

The VSSUT offers both undergraduate and postgraduate including, B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MSc, M.Phil, MCA and Doctor of Philosophy. Admission to various B.Tech and B.Arch program are done from the merit list published by JEE Main, and for M.Tech, MSc and M.Phil program offered are conducted by University.

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs with admissions through OJEE for UG courses and online applications for PG and Ph.D. programs. For B.Tech, B.Arch, and MCA, candidates must register online and pay the fees via the university portal. Postgraduate admissions require a non-refundable application fee, with eligibility based on relevant degrees and academic performance. Ph.D. admissions are based on career marks and an interview. • Hostel Charges: Rs. 48,000 for hostel, covering development, seat rent, and mess fees.

• Admission through Online Application for M.Tech and M.Sc programs.
• Application Fee: Rs. 500 (Rs. 200 for SC/ST candidates).
• Required Documents: Hard copy of online application, self-attested copies of academic certificates, GATE score (for M.Tech).
• Eligibility: Candidates must have a B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant field with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
• Selection Criteria: Admission is based on GATE score for M.Tech programs, and academic marks for others.

Ph.D. Programs

• Application Fee: Rs. 1000 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates).
• Selection Criteria: Based on career marks (60%) and interview performance (40%).

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla has established a standard policy to evaluate, design, implement, maintain and utilize the infrastructure. Faculty and students of their department are involved in research activities of interest to society and industry.

• Central Library: The University library is the largest technical library of the state. A new separate library building has come up with the assistance from UGC and State Govt. and the library has started functioning in its newly constructed building since July, 1997.
• Central Research Faciltiy: The Central Research Facility (CRF) was established in the year 2015 and provide a scientific platform for research due to the provision of state-of-art equipment supported by cutting edge technologies at a single location.
• Central workshops: Central workshop is one of the pivoting units of the institute which teaches conceptually acknowledged a product comes to its present form by way of imparting core manufacturing education to all the first year students of the university. It also provide manufacturing support to the entire institute community in general and undergraduate students in particular.
• Central Computer: The Central Computer facility of the Univerity was established in the University in the year 1987, with financial assistance from MHRD, Govt.of India as a zero level facility. Looking at the present day needs, software like JAVA, ORACLE, Visual Studio etc. have been kept open for the benefit of the students.
• Central Transport Facility: A full fledged transport department functions in the University to provide transport facility free of cost to students and staff during industrial study tours, survey works and University functions.
• Guest House: VSSUT Burla has a guest to meet its needs. It is located inside the campus. The guesthouse provides boarding and lodging facilities for the institute’s guest, newly appointed faculty and staff members, delegates and participants attending various conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops, visitors, alumni and parents of the students.
• Medical: VSSUT offers a wholesome academic environment which is incomparable to any other eminent institutes/ universities offering an undergraduate engineering as well as postgraduate degree.

• The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Odisha, was established through Orissa Act 9 of 2009.
